Tiger wood and stainless steel finger ring by Coin Carnival

I made couple of Tiger wood rings before but this is the first time I have used SS core.  I think that the patterns on this timber are so interesting and they look very unique.  I used cactus resin to bond the SS core inside the other timber ring.  And for the finish I polished it using CA so it should be ok even if it gets wet but I always recommend to take of your rings before your hands get in the contact with water.  Common sense I guess is the best guideline here.

Here are some photos taken during my hand crafting process.  I hope you like it.

I am posting few photos from “working progress” …  you will see sanding sides or edges using sanding paper on a flat surface which is time consuming but I have a full control over it and I love doing it.

Few weeks ago we were visiting Dunsborough WA and few wineries in Margaret River region.  We stopped at John Streater Furniture Gallery / Studio.  John is a master crafsman and every single piece of his handcrafted furniture is a piece or art.   Stop by John’s Studio if you are in the region and you will see some master pieces crafted from local timber.

I showed my timber rings to Pam and John.  They were very kind and let me pick up few scrap pieces of Marri , Red Gum and Jarrah to use for my wooden rings – Thank you very much.
